Scholarships

Must be a dependent child or spouse of New Jersey residents who were killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, or who died as a result of injuries received in the attacks, or who are missing and officially presumed dead as a direct result of the attacks. Eligibility period for a dependent child not to exceed eight years after high school graduation. Eligibility period for a dependent spouse not to exceed eight years after the date of death. Deadline for fall and spring students is Oct. 1 of the academic year for which aid is being requested; Deadline for spring term only students is March 1 of the academic year for which aid is being requested. Merit-based scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services or honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel) who deployed abroad in support of one of the Overseas Contingency Operations (Operation Enduring Freedom; Operation Iraqi Freedom; Operation New Dawn; Operation Inherent Resolve; Operation Freedom’s Sentinel).

Recipients must be currently enrolled and attending classes in an undergraduate program part time or full time in an eligible STEM major degree program at an accredited four year college or university in the U.S. (Candidates must be majoring in the following C4I-related fields related to the mission of AFCEA: Biometry/Biometrics, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics Science, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Information Resource Management, Intelligence, Mathematics, Network Engineering, Network Security, Operations, Research, Physics, Robotics Engineering, Robotics Technology, Statistics, Strategic Intelligence, and Telecommunications Engineering).

Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible.

At Allied Van Lines, we believe that educational advancement is paramount in improving the lives of individuals from all walks of life—from young adults recently graduating from high school, to career adults seeking continued education for the improvement of their portfolio, a quality education is always the first and most important step in raising the bar for one’s life in many more ways than one.

Due largely to this belief, we are excited to kick start the opportunity of offering our first ever Military Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Operational Management Scholarship, available to all those current or former active duty military and their dependents who qualify. Upon the contest’s close date, two lucky winners will be selected to be the recipients of an award totaling $1,000 each. Read the guidelines below for additional information on entry requirements, the award process, and more.

Award Criteria:

2 individual scholarships will be awarded.
Individual scholarship award amount of $1,000 per winner. Total scholarship awards: $2,000
Award amount will be made out to the winner’s school in the form of a check, and mailed to the winner’s personal address.

The American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship provides college funding to children of post-9/11 veterans who died on active duty, or those who have a combined VA disability rating of 50 percent or greater.

Awarded to veterans, including members of the National Guard and Reserves, who are seeking new skills to be competitive in the job market. AMVETS scholarship are designed to fulfill a financial gap after all Federal/State educational grants/scholarship/ grant available to an eligible applicant has been utilized/ all means exhausted. AMVETs offers 3x $4,000 scholarships for veterans, 1x $4,000 scholarship for military spouses and 6x $4,000 scholarships to veteran’s children and grandchildren.

The AAAA Scholarship Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation established to render financial assistance for the college-level education of members of the Army Aviation Association of America, Inc. (AAAA). Spouses, children, grandchildren and unmarried siblings of current and deceased AAAA members are also eligible. The scholarships are merit-based and range from $1,000 to $12,000. Applicants are judged on academic achievement, leadership, volunteer service, work experience and essay responses.

There are multiple Army health care scholarships and other educational programs that help students graduate with a secure career in a medical profession, without the burden of a big financial debt.

These benefits are offered in exchange for a commitment to serve on the Army Medical team, to support the wellbeing of America’s Army, at home and abroad.

Applicants of the ANCA Education Fund must be currently enrolled in an accredited baccalaureate or advanced degree program in nursing, nurse anesthesia, or related healthcare field who are serving or have previously served in any branch, and at any rank, of a component of the US Army (Active Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve) and are not currently receiving funding by a component of the US Army or the Department of Veterans Affairs, (for example, scholarship ROTC students and students receiving full GI Bill® benefits are not eligible). For veteran applicants, an honorable discharge is required.

Sons, daughters, or spouses of individuals who currently or previously served in the U.S. Army or on active duty with the Army Reserve or National Guard may apply. The program requires a minimum 2.0 GPA. Applicants must not have turned 24 by the application deadline.

The Army Women’s Foundation recognizes the importance of education and the role it plays in personal, professional and economic fulfillment. The Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program provides grants to women soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Legacy Scholarship Program offers financial support in four areas: Certificate programs, Community College coursework, Undergraduate Degrees, and Graduate Degrees. Women must have served or are serving honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard or are the child of a woman who served honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard.

Each year, the Association of the United States Army awards more than $300,000 through 44 national level scholarships. Some of these scholarships are reserved for AUSA members and others are available to any Army affiliated applicants who meet the criteria.

The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) is pleased to offer $1,000 scholarships each year to United States Service members (active duty/veterans) and spouses of service members who are working towards the completion of higher education degrees. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 12 or more credit hours and a cumulative 2.5 GPA if an undergraduate, and 6 or more credit hours with a cumulative 3.0 GPA if a graduate student. Winners are notified in January each year.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

These scholarships are for undergraduate students, including those pursuing non-degree certificate programs that are longer than 12 months. Apply for this scholarship if you are (A) an incoming college freshman or currently in college or (B) pursuing a bachelor’s degree, associates, or certificate. Applicant must be the child/stepchild of one of the following with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and a Family adjusted gross income for the 2020 tax year that does not exceed $106,000. Non-taxable allowances are not included in the adjusted gross income:

Active duty, reserve, or veteran U.S. Marine
A Marine killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps
Active duty, reserve, or veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman who is/was attached to a U.S. Marine Corps unit or who was killed while serving with a U.S. Marine Corps unit
A U.S. Navy Chaplain or Religious Programs Specialist who is/was attached to a U.S. Marine Corps unit or who was killed while serving with a U.S. Marine Corps unit
GPA of at least 2.00 (cumulatively, on an unweighted 4.00 scale)

The foundation offers 112 Dolphin Scholarships to the children or spouses of members or former members of the submarine force or support staff. The scholarship supports vocational and trade study as well as undergraduate degrees.

The Edith Nourse Rogers Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) Scholarship allows some eligible Veterans and dependents in high-demand fields to extend their Post-9/11 GI Bill® or Fry Scholarship benefits.

If you’re currently enrolled in an undergraduate STEM degree program.
All of these must be true. You:

Are enrolled in an eligible undergraduate STEM degree program that requires at least 120 standard semester credit hours (or 180 quarter credit hours) to complete, and
Have completed at least 60 standard credit hours (or 90 quarter credit hours) toward your degree, and
Have 6 months or less of your Post-9/11 GI Bill® (or Fry Scholarship) benefits left. To find out how much of your benefits you have left, check your Post-9/11 GI Bill® Statement of Benefits.

If you’re working toward a teaching certification
All of these must be true.You:

Have earned an eligible post-secondary degree in a STEM field, and
Have been accepted or are enrolled in a teaching certification program, and

The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (Fry Scholarship) is a scholarship for children and dependents of Veterans. If your parent or spouse was an active-duty service member who died in the line of duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001, you may qualify for this benefit. Find out if you’re eligible for education benefits through this scholarship.

The U.S. Department of State’s Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for undergraduate child and spousal dependents of active or activated United States military personnel during the time of application to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. Developed under the framework of the State Department’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, this scholarship is open to eligible students enrolled at accredited U.S. colleges and universities who receive any type of Title IV federal financial aid.

The Graydon and Myrth Fox Scholarship was established to assist individuals who are seeking to further their job skills or improve their circumstances through education by providing scholarships for Veterans who have served honorably in the United States Armed Forces or a surviving spouse, dependent child or grandchild of a U.S. Veteran. Preference will be given to wounded personnel or a surviving spouse, dependent child or grandchild of personnel killed or wounded while on active duty as a result of their service to our nation. Applicants must be pursuing a degree at an accredited college, university, or trade school, and be a Veteran who has served honorably in the United States Armed Forces, a surviving spouse, dependent child or grandchild of a U.S. Veteran (DD 214 or proof of military service required). Deceased or wounded Navy or Marine personnel must have been performing official military duties in a combat situation or military training exercise (DD form 1300 or DD 214 required). Must demonstrate financial need. Renewal awards may received up to four years after first award. Award will be between $1,000 to $5,000.

The Scholarship Foundation guarantees scholarships of $30,000 over four years ($7,500 a year) to eligible children of the following:

Children of Marines and veteran Marines whose parent was killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Children of Marines who were killed in combat operations or during a Department of Defense operation, training exercise, or domestic terrorist incident on or after September 11, 2001.
Children of Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Navy Religious Program Specialists attached to a Marine unit who were killed in combat operations or during a Department of Defense operation, training exercise, or domestic terrorist incident on or after September 11, 2001.
Children of Marines, Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Religious Program Specialists attached to a Marine unit whose parent died by suicide as a result of combat related Post-Traumatic Stress.

Hill & Ponton is offering four $1,000 scholarships to help veterans further their education and enter a career field that would, in turn, help other veterans. Our veterans’ scholarship program provides financial assistance to former U.S. military personnel pursuing higher education. Former members of the U.S. Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, National Guard, and Coast Guard are eligible for this assistance program following honorable discharge. Through this scholarship fund, we hope that former military members can pursue education programs and reach their goals.

Applicants must be veterans of the armed forces and must plan to use their education to help fellow veterans.
Applicants must provide their personal information and a statement of 300 words or fewer on how the applicant plans to use his or her education toward helping veterans.
We verify service and character of discharge with a DD-214.
Scholarships will be paid directly to the school (Applicant’s should have attended/or already be attending school)

Hill & Ponton Disability Attorneys will award four $1,000 scholarships (two scholarships will be awarded in the fall, two in the spring). Application Deadline: May 1st and November 1st. Awards will be announced June 15th and December 15th.

Hunt Heroes Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist active duty Servicemembers, National Guard or Reservists of one of the six branches of the United States armed services or their dependents who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Service members of all ages, as well as their dependents and/or spouses, are encouraged to apply, whether they are returning to school or just beginning their post-secondary studies.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Up to fifteen (15) awards will be granted as follows:

Four $5,000 awards for 2-year associates’ program or 4-year undergraduate studies.
Six $2,500 awards for vocational-technical programs or certificates, 2-year associates’ program or 4-year undergraduate studies program, and
Five $1,000 awards for vocational-technical programs or certificates, 2-year associates’ program or 4-year undergraduate studies program.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate and vocational-technical or certificates study only. To apply for this scholarship, candidates will answer the following questions in 300 words or less:

How has being a part of the military or part of a military family affected your life?
What would you like to change in your community and how would you do it?

Keller Law Offices is proud to help worthy students achieve their dreams and pursue fulfilling careers by awarding an annual scholarship. Each year Keller Law Offices offers a $1,000 scholarship to a military veteran or immediate family member to help him/her receive the training needed for their chosen civilian career.

Each year, the MCA provides financial assistance to several seminary students who are currently serving as chaplain candidates in the Air Force, Army, or Navy.

Eligibility Requirements:

Full time enrollment in an accredited seminary.
Ecclesiastical endorsement for service as a military chaplain.
Enrolled in the chaplain candidate program

Spouses of active-duty service personnel in specified pay grades may apply for the My Career Advancement Account Scholarship. In addition to tuition assistance, the program includes career coaching to develop an education and training plan.

Military spouses may apply for scholarship support for a variety of educational needs, including earning a degree, continuing education courses, and supervised clinical hours.

The NBCC Foundation Military Scholarship Program is designed to encourage Service Members and Veterans to pursue careers in professional counseling. The program provides financial support to students who enroll, or seek to enroll, in a CACREP accredited counseling program during or after military service, and who commit to serving military personnel.

The Purple Heart Scholarship Program is a competitive scholarship program that awards scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children, and grandchildren each year.

Student Veterans of America and Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) have partnered to provide two (2) $10,000 scholarships to student veterans demonstrating a commitment to and passion for their chosen field of study, as well as demonstrated leadership and engagement within their community. The Patriot Scholarship is offered exclusively to U.S. Army veterans and is named after RMD’s Patriot Air and Missile Defense System.

Eligibility:
Army student veterans pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited four-year college or university may apply with the following qualifications:

A U.S. Army veteran
Entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study, or be enrolled in a graduate program for the current academic year
Attending full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.
Demonstrate a commitment to and passion for their chosen field of study
Demonstrate leadership and engagement in their community
Be a current student veteran (includes members of the National Guard or Reserve), as demonstrated by a DD 214 and current transcript
Have received an honorable discharge; must be a veteran in good standing

Children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of a veteran who served on active duty during a period of war designated by the American Legion may apply. They also must have been selected to attend American Legion Boys State or American Legion Auxiliary Girls State programs. The organization names 10 national scholars and 10 national runners-up each year.

Children of active-duty personnel with a Department of Defense ID card may apply for this scholarship through their military installation’s commissary. High school applicants need a 3.0 GPA or higher while college applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Students may renew the scholarship for up to four years.

The VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. Scholarship Details:

Scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded to qualified applicants.
Awarded scholarships are limited to one per family per semester.
Applications for the fall semester will be accepted Jan. 1 through April 30.
Applications for the spring semester will be accepted Aug. 1 through Nov. 15.
Fall semester scholarships will be awarded in August, and spring semester scholarships will be awarded in January.
Scholarships must be used by the end of the school semester for which the veteran is applying, or they will become null and void.
Scholarships are restricted for tuition and fees only and will be paid directly to accredited schools.

Eligible Applicants Must:

Be a citizen of the United States.
Be retired, honorably discharged, active duty, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve.
Have completed Basic Training and follow-on training (Advanced Individual Training, technical school, etc.).
Separated with or currently hold a military rank of E-5 or below.
Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
Participate in, be accepted to or currently enrolled in a VA-approved program or school at an accredited post-secondary institution.

Military dependents between the ages of 18 and 26 may qualify for this educational program if their service member died on active duty, was captured by a hostile force, or who has a service-connected disability. The program covers college, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training for up to 36 months.

The Tillman Scholars Program assists with academic expenses, including tuition and fees, books, and living expenses for U.S. veterans and active-duty service members of all branches of the U.S. Military including the National Guard and Reserve. Current spouses of veterans or active-duty service members (including surviving spouses) are also eligible. Applicants must currently be pursuing a bachelor, graduate, or professional degree as a full-time student at a U.S.-based accredited institution of higher education. Beyond the financial support, Tillman Scholars also participate in a network that unites the best talent and leadership in the military community to continue their service beyond the uniform. Open to veteran and active-duty military service members honorably discharged of pre-and post-9/11 service. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA for renewal.

The Troops to Teachers Program is administered by the U. S. Department of Defense and provides financial support for veterans who choose to pursue a degree in teaching or education. Eligible applicants must agree to a term of service in a high need school or community in order to receive funding. Eligibility is determined by financial need, as well as academic merit.

An ongoing scholarship offer for students with military affiliation, ROTC, and children of military members.

To be eligible for this scholarship award, applicants must be:

A surviving spouse or a surviving child of a deceased service member from a service-related death OR a veteran with a 100% service-connected disability
Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university by the spring semester of 2021.
Pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, graduate, post-graduate or doctoral degree
Comfortable with sharing personal stories and aspirations with Veterans United Foundation
Able to provide the following within three business days of application submission:
- Deceased parent or spouse’s military documents (DD214 and death certificate /or DD1300)
- Official benefit letter showing disability rating (if applicable)
- Full FAFSA submission
- Proof of enrollment from your accredited college or university
- Government-issued photo ID
Able to provide Veterans United Foundation with receipts or invoices related to eligible educational costs as they are incurred in order to receive payment. Eligible costs include tuition, books, fees, school materials and some aspects of room and board as determined by Veterans United Foundation.

Scholarship awards are based upon the decisions of the Scholarship Committee of the Women’s Overseas Service League Board of Directors. Scholarships average $500.00 to $1000.00 annually and may be renewed for a second year if the recipient maintains and reports satisfactory progress as delineated in the scholarship award criteria.

Scholarship awards may be granted to women who:

Are committed to advancement in military or other public service careers.
Have demonstrated such commitment through life experiences.
Have successfully completed a minimum of 12 semester (or 18 quarter) hours of study in any institution of higher education with a minimum 2.5 grade point average.
Are admitted for study in an institution of higher learning in a program leading to an academic degree (Associate Degree or higher). The program may be professional or technical in nature.
Agree to enroll for a minimum of six semester (or nine quarter) hours of study each academic period.
Agree to maintain academic standards.

Grants

This program supports Coast Guard military dependents enrolled in college or approved vocational and technical training. The funding helps pay for books, supplies, or equipment required for a course of study, but it does not pay for tuition. The program provides funding on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Air Force offers scholarships for healthcare professionals to include: one- and two-year scholarships for Allied Health specialties (pharmacists, optometrists, clinical psychologists and public health officers), two- and three-year scholarships for nurse corps specialties and three- and four-year scholarships for medical corps and dental corps. These scholarships cover all tuition and required fees, including textbooks, small equipment items and supplies needed for study. You will also receive a monthly allowance for living expenses. While on scholarship, you will spend 45 days on active duty in the Air Force, and once you graduate, you will serve one year of active duty for each year of scholarship, serving a minimum of three years.

Offered to students whose parent or guardian died as a result of military service after Sept. 11, 2001. This grant supports students who would not qualify for a federal Pell Grant due to their expected family contribution.
