Let Us Help

Where the world comes together with purpose

Studying in the nation’s capital comes with opportunities to live and serve on a greater scale, and to have access to political, cultural, and international resources. Internships, networking, seminars, and conferences give students an understanding of everything from public health to political science, international relations to law, local service and hospitality to international franchise operations. The proximity to influential organizations — public and private — also allows students to build professional connections, gain practical experience, and secure job placements post-graduation.

Culture, History, Sanctuary

Washington, D.C., is the home of the Smithsonian Institution, as well as numerous other cultural and educational museums and libraries that open up a vast expanse of resources for research, inspiration, and reflection. These institutions are often free to enter, and they warehouse the history, art, science, and technology that continue to shape our lives and inform our purpose.

A Life Full of Flavor

The list of advantages to living in D.C. goes beyond the obvious academic pluses — accessible travel to anywhere, professional sports, theater, concerts, shopping, parks, restaurants, monuments, waterways, green spaces, and hundreds of languages spoken across diverse neighborhoods throughout the city.

Connected by Metro: Things to See and Do

Since the Brookland-CUA station opened on the historic Red Line in 1978, Catholic University students have had a convenient 10-minute hop to Union Station and other points downtown.

Whether you plan to visit the National Gallery of Art, take in a performance at the Kennedy Center, experience the Tidal Basin during cherry blossom time in the spring, or try Ethiopian food for the first time, Washington, D.C.'s Metrorail system is almost always the fastest and simplest way to get from here to there.

Our students are connected to some of D.C.'s most exciting destinations and resources through the city's Metrorail network — many that are only a few stops away:

  • Union Station (shopping, restaurants, and transit hub): 3 stops away
  • Gallery Place-Chinatown (shopping, restaurants, museums, and the Capital One arena, a major sports and music venue): 5 stops away
  • Metro Center (located in downtown DC and near major landmarks): 6 stops away
