Chapels & Mass

At The Catholic University of America, the life of faith enriches our identity and mission. Every day, the sacraments are celebrated in the many chapels throughout our beautiful campus, including daily Masses and Confession. Each year our campus community comes together for the University-wide Masses for Freshman Orientation, the Holy Spirit, St. Thomas Aquinas, and the Baccalaureate Mass, which are held next door at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. 

Here you will find:

  • Five on-campus daily Masses throughout the day.
  • Daily opportunities for Confession.
  • Seven Blessed Sacrament chapels open to our students, faculty, and staff for prayer.
  • Eucharistic Adoration on campus throughout the week, as well as daily at the neighboring Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Our liturgies are open to all members of the Catholic University community. We welcome you to join us.

The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It is located next to our campus and is the site of our annual University-wide Masses of the Holy Spirit, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Baccalaureate Mass.
Saint Paul Chapel. Dedicated in 1888, it is the original chapel of The Catholic University of America. It is located inside Caldwell Hall.
Saint Vincent de Paul Chapel. This chapel is nestled right in between two of our residence halls: Ryan Hall and Regan Hall. It was dedicated in April 1950 and hosts daily mass.
Saint Michael the Archangel Chapel. This is the University's newest chapel, dedicated in the spring of 2019. It is located in Maloney Hall, at the corner of Michigan and 7th Streets.
Mary, Mirror of Justice Chapel. Located on the second floor of the Columbus School of Law, this chapel was dedicated on February 13, 1996. The chapel seats 25 adults comfortably and holds daily mass for the community.
24-Hour Chapel. This chapel is attached to the St. Vincent de Paul chapel and is available for prayer at any time. An entrance code is available from the Office of Campus Ministry.

At Catholic University, you will find Sunday and weekday Masses, Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, and many other opportunities to worship God and receive the sacraments.

Located next door to Catholic University's campus, the Basilica is the largest Roman Catholic Church in North America and one of the ten largest churches in the world. It is home to more than 80 chapels and oratories and is open for worship for the community and students of Catholic University.
