University Community Members Take Part in Dia de Los Muertos Tradition

The Center for Cultural Engagement hosted its annual celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Nov. 2 with an ofrenda (altar) in St. Vincent's Chapel, plus a gathering at the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center.

This year's ofrenda will be on display through today. Community members are invited each year to place a photo of a deceased loved one on the ofrenda.

The Nov. 2 gathering inside the Pryz brought together community members to share stories about loved ones, while enjoying delicious pan de muertos (bread of the dead), hot chocolate, and other traditional foods.
