The Catholic University of America is gearing up to welcome new students to campus with engaging events that mark the beginning of the 2023 Fall Semester. Students will move into their dorms on Aug. 24 and participate in fun and informative orientation activities throughout the weekend.
The events are designed to help students transition seamlessly into University life, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, and spiritual and personal growth.
Move-In Excitement
Move-In Day is a lively event where students will settle into their new residences, connect with roommates and classmates, and get a firsthand glimpse of the campus facilities.
The Office of Campus Sustainability will host a free move-in thrift store on the Kane Center basketball court. Storage drawers and cubes, laundry baskets, kitchenware, office supplies, cleaning supplies, binders, desk organizers, lamps, clothing in all sizes and styles, and more will be available.
New students, including members of the Class of 2027 and transfer students, will be welcomed with an orientation program aimed at ensuring a smooth start to their academic journey on Aug. 24. The University offers the four-day orientation program to address students’ basic transitional needs and provide them with an understanding of student services and resources. During that time, students will pair up with students who serve as orientation advisors.
The orientation schedule is available through the Catholic University App via the Apple Store and Google Play.
The Fall Semester 2023 officially commences on Aug. 28. This marks the beginning of rigorous academic pursuits as students dive into lectures, discussions, and coursework. Professors are excited to introduce their curricula and guide students on their quest for knowledge and personal growth.
A cherished tradition at The Catholic University of America, the Mass of the Holy Spirit will take place on Aug. 31 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
