The program, administered by the Center for the Study of Early Christianity, draws upon courses and faculty expertise in the School of Theology and Religious Studies, School of Philosophy, and the College of Arts and Sciences. It strongly emphasizes ancient languages, social and cultural contexts, and a range of disciplines and methodologies. Our program prepares students for advanced study, and our interdisciplinary emphasis equips our graduates to make a specific contributions to contemporary debates and religious practice and to research and teaching in history, religion, and languages and literatures.
