Join Us at The Busch School of Business in Maloney Hall for a special screening of Honor in Armor followed by a panel discussion with Antonio Olivié, Robert Royal, and Andreas Widmer
This 52-minute film reveals, for the first time, documents kept in the Swiss Guards' private archives. They tell the story of a secret mission conducted at the height of World War II: A Swiss Guard officer drove a truckload of weapons from Switzerland to the Vatican, risking German troops and Allied bombs, in order to save Pope Pius XII from being kidnapped by Adolf Hitler.
These papers also reveal how this distinctive military corps began 500 years ago. It examines why young men still choose to join the Swiss Guards today. It provides exclusive insights into their life inside their barracks in the Vatican.
