Looking Ahead to The Exciting Hispanic Heritage Month Events on Campus

“Sabor y Cultura — A Celebration of Latin American Culture,” will be a festival celebrating the music, food, and dance at the heart of the diverse Latin American and Hispanic communities.  

The diverse campus community of The Catholic University of America will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with two can’t miss events. 

“Sabor y Cultura — A Celebration of Latin American Culture,” will be a Sept. 30 festival celebrating the music, food, and dance at the heart of the diverse Latin American and Hispanic communities. The free and family-friendly gathering on the University Mall will be the cornerstone event on campus during Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15-Oct. 15.

Highlights include: 

Savor Authentic Cuisine: Immerse yourself in the mouth watering tastes of Latin American cuisine. From tantalizing street food to traditional delicacies, our festival brings together renowned restaurants to offer you an unforgettable culinary experience. Cuisine from Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, Argentina, and Spain just to name a few!

Before Sabor y Cultura there will be another vibrant event: the Latin American Music Center Seminar Performance Sept. 28, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy of Argentina. The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art-hosted concert will feature a Latin American Music Center Seminar Performance presented by Maestro Gustavo Guersman.

Preliminary data before the start of the semester said that 27% of the students in the most recent first-year class identified as Hispanic. The University boasts the Center for Cultural Engagement (CCE), a place for encounter and accompaniment.
