The Brookland neighborhood in Washington, DC is a center of Catholic faith and education, sometimes called "Little Rome." The area, which includes the Catholic University of America (CUA) founded in 1887, is home to numerous religious institutions, orders, and seminaries, fostering a strong Catholic community. Brookland is distinguished by its religious presence, including the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and the headquarters of the US Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
