Catholic University concert, tree lighting filled with joy for Advent

Music is filling the air, lights are glowing and garland is adorning campus buildings as Catholic University students, faculty and staff rejoice in the Advent season.

President Peter Kilpatrick and his wife Nancy led their first annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at Catholic University in front of McMahon Hall on Dec. 2. Hundreds gathered around the tree in a moving ceremony.

Later that evening, students from the the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music held their annual Christmas Concert in the Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The talent of Catholic University students was on full display.
